Fix bad usage of usage message generator

(Irony not intended...)

Error message was passed as usage pattern, ie. calling invalid subcommand
such as:

    mytool nonesuch

would result in usage message like:

    usage:
      mytool invalid sub-command: nonesuch
      mytool [options] COMMAND [ARG...]
